F*cking muggen

Studentencode stuurt postkaartjes gratis

Ireland 2006, day 11 to 13

Ireland 2006, Day 5 to 10

Sunday the 9th of July, the EJC officially opens, but it only gradually takes off. Millstreet isn't the most accessible place in the world, and all day long jugglers seep in coming from the bus or train station. The terrain is pretty nice, lots of space and grass. Even the weather, although unpredictable and ever changing, is treating us good.

Ireland 2006, Day 4

It is the morning of Saturday the 8th of July and again first the cyclists leave and after that M and me get on the road. The weather is not great and we start walking and hitchhiking in a light drizzle, which would soon turn into heavy rains. I had put on my sandals, and was wearing this cheap plastic poncho I had bought in Dublin. The damn thing kept flapping around in the wind making me crazy, and not a single person showed any interest in picking us up. Only one bus a week stops in Annestown so we really didn't have much choice.

Ireland 2006, Day 3

Or Friday the 7th of July to be exact. After a good nights rest the five of us crawl out of our tent to continue the journey. As it stands M and me, the hitchhikers, are planning to arrive on Saturday or possibly Sunday at the EJC in Millstreet, while the cyclists, B, S and T will need a bit more time. S only came for the ride and the scenery and has a plane on Monday morning from Cork to Dublin and then from Dublin back home. The others hope to arrive in Millstreet somewhere on Monday.

Ireland 2006, Day 2 continued

About an hour after my previous post M arrived. We discussed for a moment what we would do, and decided it would be the cheapest to leave Dublin straight away. The others (S, T and B) had been going merrily by bike, maybe we would be able to catch up with them. The plan was to do the largest part of the trip, about 300 km, hitchhiking. M and me have hitchhiked together before, it's easy and cheap and a bit of adventure. We had read before that 'thumbing' wasn't a big problem in Ireland, but it seems things have changed.

Ireland 2006, Day 2

The day didn't start out too well. I only booked for one night in the hostel yesterday because I wasn't sure what we would do today. M has informed me in the meantime he would like to stay in Dublin for the night. When I went to the desk this morning they told me they were fully booked. Bummer!
So now I'm on the road with my backpack once again. I've been looking around for another hostel, but haven't found something decent in the same price range. M should be here in an hour I guess, so we'll see what happens then.
