Making vector images from musical scores

Summary of the original Dutch article.

This article describes how to edit a musical score, export it, convert it to a vector based image format, edit it and import it in an openoffice writer document, all using open source progams that are available for Ubuntu. I wrote it because I spent half a day figuring out how to achieve this. Here's a short outline of the process.

Web glossary update

The New Web Glossary has been updated. New terms : AJAX, Web 2.0, Mashup.

I'm still working on my Emerging Web Series (in case anyone is wondering), however I am currently finishing my thesis which must be ready by the end of the month. This has Priority Over Nearly Everything, so I won't be posting as much as before.

Multilingual blogging with Gengo!

A few months ago I wrote a post about my desire for a Wordpress plugin that would allow me to make my blog multilingual in an elegant way. I was under the impresission there was no plugin that was able to help me. Fortunatly Moshu, author of the 'Cross cultural blog' pointed me to the Gengo plugin.

Ireland 2006, day 11 to 13

Ireland 2006, Day 5 to 10

Sunday the 9th of July, the EJC officially opens, but it only gradually takes off. Millstreet isn't the most accessible place in the world, and all day long jugglers seep in coming from the bus or train station. The terrain is pretty nice, lots of space and grass. Even the weather, although unpredictable and ever changing, is treating us good.

Ireland 2006, Day 4

It is the morning of Saturday the 8th of July and again first the cyclists leave and after that M and me get on the road. The weather is not great and we start walking and hitchhiking in a light drizzle, which would soon turn into heavy rains. I had put on my sandals, and was wearing this cheap plastic poncho I had bought in Dublin. The damn thing kept flapping around in the wind making me crazy, and not a single person showed any interest in picking us up. Only one bus a week stops in Annestown so we really didn't have much choice.
