Tomorrow I’m leaving for the infamous European Juggling Festival, the EJC 2006, as I’ve mentioned before. If there is Internet access on the site I’ll post a few juicy diary entries. However, since doing the EJC is my yearly antidote against technological overload, the Emerging Web Series will be on hold untill I’m back, the 17th of august. I’ll be away from the screen to link with my fellow humans (more specifically the wayward juggling variety) in real and actual life
To give you however something to read in the meantime, here are a few interesting articles I’ve read recently :
- Steve Pavlina writes a good article, recommending not to take the shortest route towards your goals, but rather the most enjoyable. I’ll be putting this to practice the following weeks.
- Problogger Darren Rowse mentions a new service were bloggers can get paid to write about certain products. It seems like the blogger doesn’t have to mention at all that the article is sponsored. This certainly raises my concerns.
- Mark Pilgrim explains at length how he has been plagued by closed data formats. Being a life-long mac user who recently saw the light and switched to open source, he mostly points his arrows towards Apple. However, I believe these are relevant topics to all computer users.
- And finally Tom Chi and Kevin Cheng form the usability site OK/Cancel drew a nice comic that I think applies to many cell phones. Less buttons is not a more usable interface.
Best regards and read you later!
