Public Service Announcement
Some may have noticed I recently changed from permalink structure. This means individual posts now have the date and title in their URL. Old style URL's still work, so any links to posts should still work.
Because of this the adress of the news feeds also changed (again the old ones still work), but because of a bug in wordpress the 'posts' feed displayed the same results as the 'comments' feed, comments. I wasn't aware of this until Joke Renneboog pointed this out. It's fixed now. Thanks for the notice!
Speaking of News Feeds, URL's and other modernisms, this seems a good moment to announce a series I'm preparing. It struck me that some guys whom like me studied computer science for the last four years, didn't know what a podcast was. My dad's been in the computer business for most of his adult life, yet has no clue what RSS is. The web has come a long way, seems to be evolving ever faster. With many new technologies emerging and the paradigm shifting from a web of static information to an intelligent interactive social web these are truly exciting times to live in.
My first idea was to make a glossary of keywords that are important in the current and future web. However I decided to tackle it chronologically starting from the origins of the web and working towards the semantic web. Along the way covering the emergence of web standards, semantic markup, blogs, social networking and social bookmarking, the web as an application platform, webservices, microformats and all these other buzzwords that might benefit from a concise explanation. Together with each entry I'll add all mentioned terms to the glossary.
Hopefully this will spark some interesting discussion. My mom should be able to get it, so if it gets too technical or unclear I want to know! No need to be shy, everybody gets their say.

Thanks for letting the whole
Thanks for letting the whole world know I'm a feed addict ;-)
The glossary idea is very interesting indeed!
I might let my own dad read it since he knows absolutely nothing about computers and stuff but is incredibly curious about what I'm exactly doing when I'm typing away.
Concerning the permalink
Concerning the permalink structure... Why is the 'index.php' still there?
@Joke Maybe we should start
@Joke
Maybe we should start 'Feed Addicts Anonymous', well ok forget about the 'anonymous'...
@Floris
Unfortunatly my hosting provider doesn't use Apache (bloody I *cough* I *cough* S), so I can't use mod-rewrite. Therefore I had to settle with the 'semi-pretty' URL's.
